The story of Joya de Nicaragua is one of hope, love, family, friendship, resilience, and redemption.

Over a year ago, and in honor of our 50th anniversary, the Joya de Nicaragua team decided to compile traces of our history through our people and historic archives. What we found was extraordinary and beyond just us. How could we tell the amazing story of how we became the first cigar factory in Nicaragua?

To us, the answer was simple, a tell-all book. As we began working on the project, we realized that we couldn’t tell our story without diving into the history of Nicaraguan tobacco as well. The result is a book that not only tells our story but also what we believe is never before published information about Nicaragua’s rich history of tobacco.
